Step by step
Schedule a free 15 minute consultation. During this consultation, you will have an opportunity to discuss your conflict in brief. I will advise you if mediation will be of benefit to you in my opinion. I will also answer any questions you may have.
I will normally schedule a session with each party in the conflict. This is your opportunity to explain your conflict in detail. I will ask questions along the way to better understand your situation.
I will go over the mediation process, the Agreement to Mediate, and the fee schedule.
Once I have conducted pre mediations with all parties, you will be called to a joint mediation session (or more than one session depending on the complexity of your conflict). I will assist all parties to discuss their perspectives with each other. You will explore and brainstorm a range of possible solutions to your conflict. The solution you choose is entirely up to you!
After all your hard work, your mutual agreement will be documented in the form of a Memorandum of Agreement. You have the option to take this MOA to a lawyer and have a legal agreement drafted.
If need be, follow up sessions can be scheduled to monitor progress and make changes as necessary.
